Pierre de Fouquet
Pierre co-founded the team in 1986, launching the venture and growth arm of the French Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) in the TMT sector. He was primarily in charge of investments in cinema and television businesses before taking over the whole media sector. He then negotiated the spin-off from CDC and has been co-managing the team ever since.
Pierre is currently supporting companies in France, Israel and China while he previously backed Lumière (acq. by Canal +), Coficiné (acq. by Natixis), and most of the French cable TV channels, among which Canal J, MCM, Planète and CinéCinéma (acq. by Lagardère and Canal +).
Among many others, he also backed Alphanim (acq. by Gaumont), Cinar (IPO on Montreal exchange), Computec (IPO on Frankfurt stock exchange), Deficom (IPO on Brussels Stock Exchange), RFM (acq. by Lagardère) and Rue des Ecoles (acq. by Actissia).
Pierre started his career as a researcher in economics and a faculty member at University of Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne (France).
He then joined the Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) as a strategic planner.
Pierre is a former Chairman of AFIC (the French VC and private equity association) and of its Venture Commission. He currently sits on its Compliance Commission. He was previously part of the first Invest Europe PAE (Public Affairs Executive), representing the VC and private equity profession at EU level vis-à-vis the European institutions when the AIFM Directive was created.
Pierre is a graduate of Institut d'Études Politiques de Paris (France) and holds a PhD in economics from the University of Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne (France).
